Summer Camp 2008 is here! Camp is at Hohn Scout reservation and you can visit the web site at: www.hohnscoutreservation.org/ I realize that with the recent events of the Iowa Scouts, many parents may be a little concerned about their boys attending Scout Camp. I can assure you that we understand those concerns and want to keep your minds at rest. Plans have been made in the event of dangerous weather to take protective cover in the event it should arise. We are fortunate that we are close to home and have many resources available to us. I will TRY to do a daily update of what occurred at camp each day. I will post this information in the PARENT SECTION of the SCOUT FORUM. You can find a link to the Scout Forum on the front page of this web site and you will need to LOG IN to be able to view the Scout Forum. If you do not have a login, you will need to contact me by phone so that I can set up your account. If you previously gave me you email address, you will need to check for your login information (check your junk/spam folders too) in your old email. On April 19, 2008, Troop 138 went on a wilderness survival campout (see photos in the photo galery). During the weekend, the Scouts tackled over 8 miles of the Kit Carson trail. Including the walk to camp and back, the hike included over 10 miles of rough terrain. Every scout who set out on the mission, accomplished this feat with a smile on their face. Pictured below is a satellite photo of the hike area as plotted by GPS the day of the hike. A video was made and will soon be posted on the site... stay tuned!

The Spaghetti Dinner was a huge success and raised vital funds for the Scouts. Troop 138 would like to thank all of those people and businesses who helped make this a success, and all of the great citizens and supporters who came to enjoy the meal.
